In today's interview, we have the honor of speaking with the incredibly talented and versatile artist known as King Pete, also known as The Real King Pete. Hailing all the way from the capital city of Gauteng, South Africa, Pretoria, King Pete's hometown is Mokopane, Mahwelereng in Limpopo, South Africa. He credits African artists such as Mizchif, Prokid, Stogie - P, ProVerb, and HHP for influencing his love for and start in creating his own Hip Hop music.
During the interview, King Pete discusses the diverse languages and cultures found in Africa, emphasizing that the country is divided into provinces rather than states. He impresses the interviewer, Mattsuuii, by revealing that he is fluent in five different languages. King Pete compares his city to South Africa's version of New York City, highlighting the vibrant and bustling atmosphere.
Mattsuuii expresses his desire to collaborate with King Pete in person, either in South Africa or California, where he has his personal studio. Both artists bond over the fact that they independently founded their own record labels around the same time, with Mattsuuii in 2013 and King Pete in 2015.
